Kentucky Derby, Preakness and more

by pittsburghgamingguru on May 19th, 2012 at 1:51 pm
Posted In: About

My Kentucky Derby http://www.kentuckyderby.com/report is a little late. With #19, “I’ll Have Another” winning The Derby, we didn’t have any winning tickets.

Bette, called me from New Jersey with a few horses to bet. I recommended that Bette put $2 across, on each of her horses. With the $6 bet, she won on her win, place and show bets. Bette won a total of $55.40 -$6.00 for a profit of $49.40.

There is going to be a huge event in Pittsburgh and I was just brought on board for The Hug-A-Thon Ptittsburgh https://www.facebook.com/HugAThonPittsburgh on September 6, 2012.

http://technogrannyshow.blogspot.com/  The Techno Granny Founded this great event for fundraising, goodwill and to promote Pittsburgh as the Most Huggable City in the World. It is going to be a Great Event. We are going to have a kick-off event on June 13th at the Meadows Racetrack http://meadowsgaming.com/racing. Be There!

For a donation of $25 you will be admitted to the Upper Level Suites http://meadowsgaming.com/meetings/groups/upper-level-suites to watch races with a Great view, Flat screens and much more. Free appetizers and a cash bar for you to enjoy. Numerous local media, sports and entertainers will be there also. You will have your picture taken in The Winner’s Circle after our designated Races. Email me for more details: allenlevine1@gmail.com

We also have some Great Sponsorship Packages for your business. If you have a group of friends who want to go we have a Sponsorship rate for you too!

You will be Helping a lot of people through our Charities. The Charities will be in attendance that Wednesday evening. The Races are Broadcast live in the Pittsburgh Area. Your friends will be able to see you Live on Comcast TV after our Designated Hug-A-thon Pittsburgh Races.

You must hear the Legendary Roger Huston call the Races.

If you would like to make a $2 wager, “The Pittsburgh Gaming Guru” will help. We are not promoting gambling. It will be a Great night for a Great cause even if you Do Not Make a Bet!

Let’s Talk a little Preakness Racing http://www.preakness.com/ . PGG likes #7 Bodemeister with the Great Jockey Mike Smith. He has over 5,00 wins in his career.

The Kentucky Derby winner #9 I’ll Have Another should also be around at the Finish line. His 25 year old Jockey Gutierrez want to prove that this California horse is not a fluke.

Some of the other horses that The Pittsburgh Gaming Guru would put on the ticket of Exotic Bets are #5, #6, #8 and #10.

PGG would also include the other horses in his Exacta, Trifecta and Superfecta tickets. This race is a 1/16 of a mile longer than The Kentucky Derby. If Bodemeister can back off the fast fractions today he may win today.

#6 Creative Cause has beaten the two favorites before and could be right there if they have a speed duel on the Front.

#10 Optimizer was shuffled back to 17th in the Kentucky Derby and he should have a better trip today. There shouild not be as much traffic today.

Bette likes #8 Daddy Nose Best for his name and some value. She did pick the Winner of the Kentucky Derby. Even if you know how to handicap a race, I have witnessed many people who pick the winner by color, name or numbers that they like.

As always, we do not Promote that you Gamble. We Do Not Guarantee Winners. Only bring the Money that YOU can Afford to LOSE. Let me know how you did on this Beautiful Sunny day in Pittsburgh. Let’s have More Fun!

The Pittsburgh Gaming Guru, GGF and a few friends like to bet the Triple Crown Races each year. Once in awhile we win. I will be at The Meadows Racetrack before 3PM. Maybe I will see you at the Track. Good Luck!

Video Poker, Blackjack,Keno

by pittsburghgamingguru on April 1st, 2012 at 12:18 pm
Posted In: blackjack, happy hour, keno, video keno, video poker

The Thursday before last, my Gaming girlfriend(GGF) and I went to The Rivers Casino http://riverscasino.com for some gaming fun and HAPPY HOUR. We went to order a couple of $2 mixed drinks and 50 cent wings.

The WHEELHOUSE is the place to go for HAPPY HOUR from 5-7PM.  They have GREAT drinks and food specials. There are a lot of TVS and the LARGEST  TV in PITTSBURGH. Ask for HOLLY the bartender.

That night we were watching the PENGUINS and the NCAA MARCH MADNESS games. The PENGUINS won.

GGF and I went to the SPIRAL BAR  after HAPPY HOUR to try our luck at VIDEO POKER and KENO. GGF was having some GOOD LUCK with the DUECES  WILD poker option. I wandered off to play some of the other machines.

I came back to the SPIRAL BAR and GGF was still winning. With my last $5, I started playing VIDEO KENO. After WINNING and mentioning how KENO is mindless entertainment. There was a PLAYER next to me playing Blackjack with not too many winners.

DANIEL from South Fayette was now my newest Friend. He overheard my “Mindless Entertainment” line and asked me about that and KENO. We shared a few STORIES and  how I learned to playKENO at the SPIRAL BAR.

DANIEL learned to play QUICKLY with my VIDEO KENO TIPS.
1) Press the KENO icon.
2) There are 4 choices. Pick Cleopatra
3) Play for one credit (25c)
4) Press the credit and erase at the same time to clear the board.
5) Pick up to 10 numbers. Try to stay with the same #s
6) Press deal/draw to begin.

I started WINNING. The CLEOPATRA option came up 12 TIMES while I was playing. Daniel was trying his best, with no winners. He was about to put another $20 into the machine, and I stopped him.

One of my RULES is to break your $20 into $5.  My new friend found $5 for another try. He went to the REGULAR KENO and started to win. He hit for 98 quarters on his next play.

Of course I mentioned another TIP. Take your WINNER out and put your VOUCHER into your POCKET. Daniel was happy to do so. He pulled out another $5  and continued to play.

We were having a lot of FUN and talking about our GAMBLING experiences. He told me that he had better luck at THE MEADOWS http://meadowsgaming.com

Daniel also told me that he  MONETIZES his FREEPLAY at The MEADOWS the same way that I do. He even leaves after he does that. That is RARE and shows his GOOD sense.

After a COUPLE of hours, Daniel told me that he paid for all of his beers and a pack of cigarettes and was still up OVER $20.

GGF and I were about to leave and Daniel AGREED that I could use his NAME and his story. THANKS DANIEL, It was great to meet you.

GOOD LUCK and I hope to see you again.

Video Blackjack Expert Tribute

by allen on March 29th, 2012 at 12:17 pm
Posted In: About, blackjack, video blackjack

My friend Neal, passed away on March 8, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. Neal was a blackjack player and a CLASS ACT.

This is how I first heard about Neal playing video blackjack at the Meadows Casino and Racetrack

www.meadowsgaming.com .

We were at a breakfast club charity at the Hot Metal Diner  http://hotmetaldiner.com . Try one of their great breakfasts. The pancakes are HUGE.

My friend (VBF) mentioned that he was taking Neal to play Video Blackjack.

VBF (video blackjack friend) told me, they went each Saturday. They even won once in awhile.

A few months later we met at the Meadows. Neal and VBF were playing video blackjack. With a little prompting, Neal told me how he played the game. This is what I remember.

NEAL’S VIDEO BLACKJACK TIPS.

1) Learn how to play BLACKJACK.

2) Bring what you can afford to lose that day.
     a) Have a time limit too.
3) Everyone is playing their hand against the Dealer.
      a) The other players do not affect your play
4) $5 is the minimum bet, vary your betting as you play

5) Play the special side bet ( a 2 card suit pays you extra even if you do not win the hand)

6) Surrender once in awhile to conserve your bankroll.

7) Give  nice names to the Video Blackjack Dealers.
      a)You will have more fun.

I asked if they Monetized their Freeplay. Neal told me that he could not use his freeplay at the table now. The Meadows had changed its  freeplay policy.

I showed VBF how to monetize his freeplay on “Jackpot Party”. VBF varied his bets up to the maximum of $2. He Monetized $45 into about $100.

Neal didn’t like playing the penny machines. So we went to a 25c  Wheel of Fortune machine. Neal turned his freeplay into $25. They thanked me for the lesson on Monetization.

I saw Neal a few more times at the Video Blackjack table. Neal always had a lot of fun. I know that it was  great entertainment for him.

In February, I saw Neal on a Friday Night at his usual Video Blackjack table. His dealer (Ronaldo) was not dealing him many good cards. He told me that the other dealers were not giving out many winners either.

Neal would always kid about how the dealers were treating him. He had enough fun and was ready to go when I saw him.

Neal asked me to help monetize his $85 in freeplay.  A penny machine called  “Lobster Mania” was nearby. It has a max bet of $1.50.

I noticed that Neal was having some difficulty walking. He also had some trouble pressing the buttons on the game. With a little help, he was having a lot of fun.

In 15 minutes he  turned his FREEPLAY into $103.  He turned a losing night into a profitable visit. Neal was grinning from ear to ear.

He couldn’t wait to tell VBF.  They were going to play Saturday. Neal thanked me and left with his son to go home.

I found out a few weeks later that Neal went to the hospital on Saturday NOT to the Meadows. He was sick, the chemo and cancer had weakened his system.

VBF told me that Neal did not suffer very long or have much pain.

May God Bless you Neal.

Slot Tournaments

by pittsburghgamingguru on March 6th, 2012 at 3:32 pm
Posted In: About, Monetize Monday, slot tournament

Have you ever been in a SLOT TOURNAMENT?

If not, the Meadows www.meadowsgaming.com is having a SLOT TOURNAMENT  every Monday in March!

They have a few rules for you to follow.

You must be at least 55 years old,  and have a Players Card.  To qualify you need 50 points from Midnight on Monday until 11 AM.

Go to the PLAYERS CLUB to pick up your FREE LOTTERY TICKET and your $5  FOOD COURT VOUCHER.

Then go to the  SILKS LOUNGE to REGISTER @ 11:45am.

The SLOT TOURNAMENT will begin @ NOON. The last person must play before 3:30PM.

They put you into GROUPS of 20 after you are REGISTERED. YOUR NAME will APPEAR on the MACHINE that you will be PLAYING.

YOU WILL NOT NEED ANY MONEY OR YOUR PLAYERS CARD TO PLAY ONCE YOU HAVE REGISTERED!

After you are seated,  you must HIT the BUTTONS on the RIGHT SIDE of your MACHINE for TWO MINUTES to WIN!

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, GO TO THE PLAYERS CLUB.

The Players Club staff is courteous and well trained. If they can’t answer your questions, I am sure that their MANAGER, ROSE will have the answer for you.

WHAT WILL YOU WIN?

$3,000 in FREEPLAY is the TOP PRIZE!  The TOP NINE places and the LOWEST SCORE all WIN FREEPLAY.

CHIP is the HOST of the SLOT TOURNAMENT. He does a  GREAT JOB of ANNOUNCING while you are PLAYING.

Here is my SLOT TOURNAMENT STORY.

I arrived at the Meadows around 9:30 AM.  While entering the Casino I ran into a very nice lady who told me she hoped to get the 50 points to enter the SLOT TOURNAMENT.

She said that she was nervous and worried about qualifying too. My advice was that it was easy to do and to have  fun before 11:45 AM.

About 15 minutes later, she came over to my penny machine to tell me that she had got her points, lottery ticket and her $5 food voucher. After congratulating and wishing her good luck, she went off to play a some more machines.

As I stated on THE TECHNO GRANNY SHOW  http://technogrannyshow.com it is MONETIZE MONDAY!

Email the TECHNO GRANNY to video MONETIZE MONDAY!

It took me about 35 minutes to get my 50 points to qualify. I was playing a penny machine “JEWELERS JACKPOT”. My max line bet was 15, x the multiplier 1, for a total bet of 15 cents.

Since you have to go to the PLAYERS CLUB to get your initial prizes that was where I went. The lottery ticket was nice, but it wasn’t a winner. It was time to use the $5 food voucher.

I went to CIBO to order a couple of their huge slices of pizza. It ended up costing me $1.06 to have a healthy brunch. It was also nice to watch the horses jogging around the Race Track.

Around 11:30 AM, there  was a huge line forming near the SILKS LOUNGE. It looked like there were over 300 people lining up to register.

I sat down in one of the very comfortable brown leather chairs near the glass  wall over looking the escalators. This is just to the right of the FRONT ENTRANCE when you come from the first Parking Garage.

The New PARKING GARAGE will open on April 15th.

While sitting there waiting for the line to move, I made a new friend. Tom, is a 73 year old who has had a very interesting life.  We covered a lot of topics and careers that he had. If you need a tree or trees cut down in our Pittsburgh area give me a call. Tom cuts them down for a great price too.

After hearing a few of his great stories we talked about gambling. He didn’t realize that he qualified for the SLOTS TOURNAMENT. Of course I told him to give it a try. We walked over to stand in line. It was about 12:25 PM now.

As I was waiting I ran into one of my grade shool teachers. Mr. Wagner was the best Science Teacher in Green Tree. He is 82 years old now and was about play in the SLOT TOURNAMENT.

After making a few new friends, I was going to be in the group of 20 to play at 1:00PM. It took a few minutes to fill up the twenty machines. CHIP gave us a nice countdown to start.

I experimented with hitting the buttons on the right. Chip announced who was winning. Alas, my name was never mentioned. It is all about luck in these contests. Whether you go fast and furious or slow and steady, you need to have some big winners.

My new friend Tom had some good luck. He was now the new leader with 8,447 points. I’ll have to find out if he held on to win.

My point total was 5,614. I did not finish in the top nine spots. No freeplay for me.  Every Monday in March they will have a SLOT TOURNAMENT.

I hope to see you early on Mondays. GOOD LUCK to you!

Leap Month Xtras

Would you like to hear the Pittsburgh Gaming Guru on internet radio?

You can hear and see me on: http://technogrannyshow.com         The Techno Granny gives you a lot of  FREE TIPS to try.

We talked about the Technology of Gambling for your Entertainment. You will also see a current photo of me.

The Techno Granny has many great sites for you to visit. She has her Positve Pittsburgh sites and much more for you to explore.

I found “The Techno Granny” @ Positives Pittsburghers http://pospittlive.ning.com. Go to Positively Pittsburgh Live Magazine.com. The link is http://pplmag.com.

These are just THREE of her great FREE sites. There is a lot of great info for you to enjoy. She has FREE MEMBERSHIPS so you can connect with other like minded POSITIVE PITTSBURGHERS.

I am always promoting Pittsburgh and our great Metropolitan area. It was great  to find Joanne Quinn-Smith who created this Positive Pittsburgh site.

With the extra day in February, here is what I have observed in the Pittsburgh area Casinos.

I was at the Meadows http://meadowsgaming.com with one of my friends. He also hosts our live Sports Talk show (Pittsburgh Sportsline). Mike  invited me out for a free lunch. He also wanted to show me their great  Poker Room.

Our show is live on Tuesdays from 7-8PM on Public access TV in Bethel Park (BPTV). You can see all of our shows on You Tube if are not able to see us live.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYeRKa2avr0

Back in the Poker Room, Mike was on a winning streak.  Since I have never played in a Poker Room, it was a great way to watch everyone play. Mike was playing at a table where the “Bad Beat Jackpot” was over $100,000.

He introduced me to another Pittsburgh Poker player by the name of Rocky. We will have more info about him in March.

After 4 hours of play, Mike was ready to eat. The people in the Poker Room were very nice to us. It  reflects on their first class training of the Poker Room Manager.

Marty, the assistant manager helped me to a  table away from the Poker players. Thanks for the great info about Poker too.

The state of the art Poker Room is a very large room. With 26 tables and 9,800 square feet of space it is a great place to play.

Nikki, our waitress gave us a menu with a variety of items to choose from.

Everyone knows how I like a free meal and this one did not disappoint. I had a very good 1/2 pound cheeseburger and french fries. The service was excellent too.

Mike had earned a lot of comps with his many hours of  play. Our meals were paid for by his comps. The Poker Room has many different comps to help defray your gambling expenses. Always use your Players Card!

While waiting for Mike  I met a few gamblers in the Casino.

Are you familiar with the slot machine “TEXAS TEA”? I was playing on this penny machine with my 9 cent bet. An older gambler needed some help putting in his pin. So I helped him to type in his pin.

Then he began to monetize his free play. He turned his $25 of freeplay into almost $60. This is what I am constantly telling people to do. Way to go Gabe!

As we were talking I found out that he is the next door neighbor of my Uncle in White Oak. That is another reason Pittsburgh is a big city with a small town feel to it.

In the next hour I met a couple playing Video Keno. The husband has had a lot of success at Video Keno. He gave me a few tips about how they plays Keno. He plays 4, 6 or 8 numbers for a dollar each time he makes a bet.

I was betting only a quarter and 7 numbers. He was doing well and had a couple of nice hits. He was also playing the Cleopatra feature like I had learned at the Rivers Casino www.theriverscasino.com

Go to my Blog calendar and click on December 26 and January 5 to learn about Video Keno.

Before this nice couple left, he asked me about Craps. He also told me about his success at the Craps Tables. I asked how often had he won? He didn’t win all the time. When he didwin, he made a lot of money.

I ran into another slot player who told me that he had won $250 in freeplay last Thursday. The Meadows has a special contest called “Meadows Mania” every Thursday night. They give away $25 in freeplay every minute and $250 to ten players each hour. At 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11PM.

Another friend of mine told me a great story too. This happened a couple of weeks ago. Have you ever won the $250 on a Thursday and not heard your name called out? It does happen. You only have 7 days to use that freeplay.

I will call this friend “Lucky 2″. Here is his story.

He was playing some Video Poker, without many winners. He almost lost all of his bankroll that night. “Lucky2″ decided to see if he had any freeplay. Good luck was now on his side. He saw that he had $270 in freeplay. WOW!

Instead of going home “Lucky2″ now had $270 to monetize. “Lucky2″ monetized almost all of his freeplay. He turned a losing day into a profitable evening. He didn’t give up or get mad.

Congratulations  “Lucky2″  and thanks for letting me tell this Great story.
